ICELAND: WOW Air to Launches New Flight From The U.S.

WOW air announced the launching of a new route from the U.S. to Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in Delhi, India via Iceland. The flights will be offered throughout nine major cities across the country, starting December 5, 2018.

I am thrilled to broaden WOW air’s offerings and bring low fare international flight service to India, stated WOW Air’s Founder and CEO, Skúli Mogensen.

WOW air has joy to continue its mission of enabling low fare travel to customers around the world, whether it’s for business or pleasure, and it keeps looking forward to expanding its global service network.

The new service to DEL will be available from the following U.S. airports: Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI), Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD).

Also Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW), San Francisco International Airport (SFO), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL).

WOW air will use its brand new Airbus A330neo aircraft on the Delhi route, furnished with the new WOW premium seats, which features at least 37 inches of legroom.

Additionally, one-way fares begin as low as $199, while WOW premium seats commence at $699.

As of Spring 2018, the airline offers flights to 39 destinations across Europe, including Dublin, London, Paris, Berlin and Copenhagen, and North America.

Also, the purple airline manages one of the youngest fleets worldwide, consisting of Airbus A320, Airbus A321, and Airbus A330 models with an average aircraft age of two years.

Low-cost carrier WOW Air, started flying to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) from London-Stansted (STN), via Reykjavik, on April 28, 2018.

The new STN-JFK daily flight is not the first connection the carrier has to New York.

The Icelandic airline launched last year flights to Newark from Iceland; frequency will be increased from May 29, 2018.

Skuli Mogensen, WOW air CEO, said, Since launching our Newark route last year, we’ve seen increasing demand from our Irish passengers looking for more ways to travel to the East Coast. Our new route to JFK does just that.

Currently, WOW offers flights from Iceland to ten destinations in North America: New York (Newark), Boston, Washington D.C., Montreal, Toronto, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Pittsburgh, and Chicago.

Additionally, earlier this year, the airline announced five new routes from Iceland to Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, St Louis, Dallas, all set to begin in 2018.

We are excited to offer more East Coast passengers access to high-value and low fares through our new partnership with John F. Kennedy International Airport, Mogensen said in a statement.

JFK joins our growing network of North American destinations and will give Irish passengers a new, convenient way to explore the sights and sounds of the Big Apple at an affordable cost.

WOW Air will also offer flights from JFK to Paris, Amsterdam, London, Frankfurt, Dublin, Copenhagen, and Berlin, via Reykjavik.

WOW air, Icelandic Ultra-Low-Cost-Carrier, commenced services out of John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) from April 27, 2018, with 20 weekly flights from both airports. The routes will be made with its Airbus fleet.

We are excited by the success of our Newark Liberty International Airport partnership and are looking forward to offering New Yorkers more flight options with John F. Kennedy International Airport, said Skuli Mogensen, founder, and CEO of WOW air.

Likewise, Mogensen recalled that the carrier’s goal is to make travel more affordable and to provide a high-value experience to passengers.

These new additions to JFK and EWR follow the seasonal nonstop service from Keflavik, Reykjavik to Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), which starts in May 2018.

Starting today, for a limited time, $99* tickets will be available from JFK and EWR to Reykjavik, Iceland non-stop.

Also, and $149 tickets from EWR to Amsterdam (AMS), Berlin (SXF) and Paris (CDG) and from JFK to London (STN), Paris (CDG) and Amsterdam (AMS) are now on sale.

The reduced one-way fares will be offered for flights departing April through June 2018.
